Convert GMT, UTC, and world time zones instantly
A time zone converter answers one deceptively simple question: when it's this time here, what time is it there? Do it in your head and you'll eventually subtract wrong, forget daylight saving, or schedule a call for someone's 3 a.m. This tool does the arithmetic for you. Set a city and a time on the left, add the cities you care about, and read the matching local time for each one at a glance.
It's free, runs in your browser, and needs no account. You can compare several zones at once, jump to a specific date, and copy a link that reopens the converter with exactly your cities and time, handy for dropping into an email or a chat so everyone sees the same thing.
GMT, UTC, and why offsets aren't fixed
UTC is the global reference; GMT is effectively the same for everyday use. Every city sits at an offset from UTC, like UTC+1 or UTC−5. The catch is that the offset isn't constant: regions that observe daylight saving shift by an hour twice a year, and they don't all switch on the same date. That's why a fixed mental offset between two cities quietly breaks for a few weeks each spring and autumn. This converter reads each city's current rules, so the result is right for the exact date you pick.
How the converter works
1. Pick the city you're starting from
Choose the 'From' city. We default to your own time zone and show its current UTC offset so you can sanity-check it at a glance.
2. Set the time and date
Type a time in 24-hour or AM/PM form, hit Now for the current moment, or use the morning, afternoon, and evening shortcuts. The arrows move the date forward or back a day.
3. Add the cities to compare
Add as many destination cities as you need. Each shows its local time, date, and the difference from your starting city, including whether it lands on the next or previous day. Swap flips your starting city with the first one in the list.
4. Copy a shareable link
One click copies a link that reopens the converter with your exact cities and time. Paste it into an email or chat and everyone lands on the same view, no screenshots required.
Daylight saving, handled for you
Because the converter reads live time zone rules for the date you select, daylight saving transitions are built in. Convert a time in March or October and you'll get the offset that actually applies on that day, not a stale year-round guess. The same goes for cities that don't observe daylight saving at all, like most of Asia, which is exactly where manual math trips people up.
Converting a time vs. finding one
A converter is perfect when you already know the time and just need it translated across cities. When you don't yet have a time and need to find a slot that fits everyone's working hours, that's a different job. Our Meeting Time Zone Planner takes each person's city and hours and computes the windows that work for the whole group.
