Cal.com is considering folding cal.eu into cal.com. Nothing is decided: co-founder Peer Richelsen wrote to cal.eu users openly on 28 July 2026 and explicitly asked for feedback. His reasoning is candid: running two separate platforms in parallel turned out to be harder than expected.
If that consolidation works for you, stay. Genuinely. cal.com is a good product and this post is not an argument that it isn't.

Peer has been candid about this in public, too. On 28 July he wrote that he had "been telling die hard european-only users about meetergo", and in the same breath that "(un)luckily its not that many" and that "a huge positive majority is moving to cal.com".
We'll take that at face value, second half included. Most cal.eu users will be perfectly well served by cal.com, and he is better placed than we are to know it. This post is for the minority he is describing. We would rather be the honest option for a small group than oversell to a large one.
The distinction worth being precise about
cal.com is SOC 2, ISO 27001 and GDPR-compliant. We are not going to pretend otherwise, and you should be suspicious of anyone who does.
Compliance and jurisdiction are different questions. A company can be fully GDPR-compliant and still sit under US lawful-access law through its corporate structure. That gap is the reason a separate European instance existed in the first place, and it is the one thing a consolidation cannot carry over. The full argument is in our piece on the CLOUD Act.
Where meetergo sits
- German GmbH, based in Cologne, with no US parent and no US holding structure.
- Servers in Frankfurt. Not an EU region of a US platform. The company and the infrastructure share a jurisdiction.
- DPA ready to sign, without a negotiation round.
The practical difference: our European posture is not a deployment option maintained alongside a main product. There is one meetergo and every customer is on it. That is why the two-instances problem Peer describes never reached us. We never took the bet.
Migrating across
- Export from cal.eu. Event types, availability, team setup.
- We map it over. Booking pages, round-robin distribution and routing rules, team scheduling. Most setups move in under an hour.
- Existing links keep working. We set up redirects so nothing breaks mid-migration.
- Bring your calendar and video tools. Google, Microsoft, CalDAV, Zoom, Teams, or our own video if you would rather drop a vendor.
