You might have seen in the news lately that some of the biggest names in tech are getting slapped with some pretty eye-watering fines—we’re talking hundreds of millions of Euros. The reason? Regulators are nudging them (with a very large, expensive stick) to make their platforms play nicer with others. It seems making things work together seamlessly isn’t always the top priority for the big guys.
Here at meetergo, we find that a bit... odd. Our whole reason for being is to make your life easier by making things work together beautifully. We don't need a €700 million reminder to break down annoying digital walls. In fact, we’ve just spent our time doing the exact opposite: voluntarily tearing down some walls within meetergo itself to make your scheduling experience smoother, smarter, and more logical.
So, while others are busy appealing fines, we’re busy appealing to your sense of a perfectly organized calendar. This latest update is all about connection, logic, and breathing room. Let's dive in.
Your Calendar’s New Personal Space Bubble: Buffers Now Protect Your Time, Universally

Let's talk about buffers. That magical cushion of time you add before or after a meeting to grab a coffee, prep for the next call, or just stare blankly at a wall to recharge. They are the unsung heroes of a sane workday.
Previously, meetergo treated buffers a bit like members of an exclusive club. If you set a 30-minute buffer on your "Project Deep Dive" meeting type, that buffer would only prevent other "Project Deep Dive" meetings from being booked right next to it. Your "Quick 15-Min Chat" meeting type? It could waltz right in and book itself five minutes after your deep dive ended, completely ignoring the buffer. It was like having a security guard for one door while leaving all the other doors wide open. Not exactly the fortress of tranquility you were hoping for.
That logic is now a thing of the past.
Now, a buffer on any meeting is a buffer on all meetings.
When someone books a meeting with you—any meeting type at all—the buffer you’ve set for it creates a universal "no-fly zone" around that event in your calendar. If your "Project Deep Dive" has a 30-minute buffer after it, nothing else can be booked in that 30-minute slot. Not a "Quick Chat," not a "Sales Demo," not even a "Let's See If This Works" test booking.
Why is this a game-changer?
It’s How Your Brain Works: You don't need a break from just one type of meeting; you need a break, period. This change aligns meetergo with the simple, human reality that you can't be in two places (or headspaces) at once.
Guaranteed Breathing Room: You can now confidently create different meeting types for different needs, knowing that your sacred buffer time will be respected across the board. No more surprise back-to-back bookings sneaking in through a different meeting type.
Simplified Scheduling: This makes setting up your availability simpler and more powerful. You set your buffers once per meeting type, and the system intelligently protects your time from every angle. It just makes sense.
Your calendar is your territory. With universal buffers, you finally have the dependable, all-access security guard you always deserved.

The Polls Glow-Up: Easier Decisions, Better Conversations

Making group decisions can be tough. It can feel like herding cats, especially when you’re just trying to find the best time for a team lunch or decide on a new project's direction. Our Polls feature has always been there to help, but we’ll be the first to admit it was getting a little… vintage. It was functional, but not exactly a joy to use.
So, we sent our Polls feature on a little self-improvement retreat, and it has returned refreshed, revitalized, and ready to make group decisions a breeze.
This isn’t just a fresh coat of paint; it’s a complete functional and visual overhaul.
First, it’s much, much easier to use. The new design is cleaner, more intuitive, and guides you and your participants through the process seamlessly. Creating a poll is faster, and for those voting, the options are clearer than ever.
Second, we’re embracing transparency. Previously, votes were often hidden by default, leaving everyone to guess the consensus until the poll was closed. Now, votes are visible to participants as they come in. This turns a simple poll into a dynamic conversation. People can see which options are gaining traction, encouraging discussion and a more collaborative decision-making process. Think of it less like a secret ballot and more like a lively show of hands in a room full of colleagues.
Finally, you have more room to explain. The new layout gives you more space to structure your poll with context. You can write a proper introduction, explain the nuances of each option, and provide all the information your voters need to make a great choice. It’s no longer just a question and a set of answers; it’s a proper platform for reaching a well-informed consensus.
Whether you're picking a project deadline or the theme for the next office party, the new and improved Polls are designed to get you the best answer with the least amount of fuss.
Explore the new Polls feature and become a decision-making wizard.
The Virtual Bouncer Has Been Fired: Flawless Entry on meetergo connect
There are few things in a remote work day more panic-inducing than the "join notification" not working. You get the alert: "Jane Doe is waiting to join." You see them in the virtual lobby. You click the "Let In" button. And... nothing. You click again. Still nothing. Meanwhile, Jane is staring at a loading screen, wondering if she has the right link, while your heart rate skyrockets.
This was a rare but incredibly frustrating bug in meetergo connect. For some users, under specific and inconsistent circumstances, the join notification system would simply refuse to cooperate. It was a critical issue, and frankly, it was unacceptable.
We are thrilled to announce that this issue is fully and completely resolved.
Our engineering team performed the digital equivalent of a full-house exorcism. They hunted down every last gremlin in the system, figured out why they were causing trouble, and showed them the door. Permanently.
The meetergo connect join notification now works. Every. Single. Time.
It doesn't matter if you join the meeting before your attendee or after. It doesn't matter if you're on a laptop or a tablet. It doesn't matter if Mercury is in retrograde. When someone is waiting to join your meetergo connect call, you can let them in with a single, confident click. The virtual bouncer who was asleep on the job has been replaced by a system that is reliable, consistent, and stress-free. Your meetings will now start smoothly, just as they should.
Need a refresher on managing your meetergo connect meetings? We've got you covered.
And a Quick Peek Around the Corner…
We’re not stopping here. While the tech giants are preparing their legal arguments, we’re preparing our next round of performance improvements.
Coming next week, get ready for a significant speed and stability boost for our calendar integrations, with a special focus on Apple Calendar. We’re fine-tuning the engines to make syncing faster, more reliable, and completely seamless, no matter which calendar you use.
Our philosophy is simple: technology should connect, not complicate. It should empower you, not frustrate you. And unlike some companies, we think making our product better for you is a choice worth making, no fines required.
Thanks for being part of the journey.
Happy scheduling!
